Toyota Motor Corporation announced a safety recall for select Corolla Cross hybrid vehicles produced between June 2022 and September 2024, affecting approximately 42,000 vehicles in the United States and about 51,000 in North America.
The recall addresses an issue where drivers may experience a temporary hardening of the brake pedal when braking while turning, potentially resulting in a longer stopping distance and increasing the risk of a collision.
To resolve this, Toyota dealers will offer a free software update to the anti-lock brake control ECU for all affected vehicles. Notifications will be sent to vehicle owners by the end of November 2024.
