NAAS And FAW-Volkswagen Forge Deep Partnership in EV Charging Services Nationwide

Aug 06, 2024

Recently, NAAS (NASDAQ: NAAS) announced a deep cooperation in the field of charging services with FAW-Volkswagen. Together with their strategic partner Fast Charging (快电), they will share a nationwide network of high-quality public charging stations and services, aiming to provide intelligent, efficient, and convenient charging experiences for FAW-Volkswagen's new energy vehicle owners.

According to the cooperation agreement, both parties will promote interoperability of charging stations, integrate activities and pricing strategies, provide discounts on parking fees, and facilitate seamless payment settlements. Through FAW-Volkswagen's "Charging Center" app, vehicle owners can easily locate nearby charging stations labeled "Fast Charging," obtaining real-time location, charging prices, equipment status, parking fees, and other details with a simple scan, enabling "one-click finding, charging, and payment" services.

Moreover, from now until August 31, vehicle owners using the FAW-Volkswagen app to charge at Fast Charging stations will also enjoy an exclusive 8.8% discount on service fees.

FAW-Volkswagen, as the first domestic passenger car manufacturer with annual sales exceeding 28 million vehicles, has been actively advancing electrification upgrades and accelerating its deployment in new energy vehicles. To better serve new energy vehicle owners, ensure rapid energy replenishment, and enhance the vehicle usage experience, FAW-Volkswagen is vigorously developing an aggregated charging platform. Through cooperation with NAAS and strategic partner Fast Charging to interconnect charging stations, the plan is to integrate more high-quality public charging stations. As of July 23, 2024, FAW-Volkswagen has aggregated over 1 million public charging terminals, covering 365 cities nationwide and meeting diverse charging needs in urban public areas, expressway service areas, industrial parks, hotels, rural areas, and more.

In the first half of 2024, domestic new energy vehicle sales penetration continued to rise, reaching nearly 50% in June. Amidst this rapid growth, the charging service experience has become a crucial focus for new energy vehicle enterprises. NAAS continues to expand its charging service cooperation ecosystem, making electric vehicle charging more convenient, intelligent, and efficient. Previously, NAAS has established comprehensive charging service partnerships with leading domestic new energy vehicle manufacturers, including Geely, Hyundai, Jike, Wanjie, Jiyue, Great Wall, GAC Energy, Deep Blue Auto, NIO, Ideal, Xiaopeng, Jiho, and Lantu.

As a global new energy asset service provider, NAAS offers a full range of services to charging station manufacturers, operators, and OEMs, covering site selection consulting, hardware and software procurement, EPC engineering, operation and maintenance, energy storage, photovoltaics, and more. This effort aims to enhance the charging experience for electric vehicle owners and improve operational efficiency across the industry chain. According to the latest Q2 financial report, NAAS achieved its first monthly operating profit, with a year-on-year revenue growth of 89%. Looking ahead, the company will continue to expand its ecosystem of industry chain partners, explore innovative models such as autonomous driving and automatic charging, and promote the high-quality development of the new energy vehicle industry.
