Beijing Automotive Group announced on July 15 that it will deliver 1,000 units of its mid-size electric sedan EU5 for taxi services in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, promoting green transportation initiatives locally. Additionally, 300 new EU5 vehicles will be supplied from its Zhuzhou factory. Tajikistan has been actively developing its electric vehicle industry since last year, aiming to enhance and modernize transportation infrastructure, with an expected import of 3,300 pure electric vehicles throughout the year. This large-scale delivery of AION Y Plus vehicles sets a new record for single-import of new energy vehicles in Tajikistan, establishing AION as one of the leading new energy vehicle brands in the local market.
Since the beginning of this year, AION has been strategically expanding into international markets, successfully launching its models in multiple countries and regions. In February, AION achieved an 11.8% market share in Thailand, solidifying its position as a leader in the segment. In early April, AION signed an agreement with INDOMOBIL to enter the Indonesian market officially. On May 21, AION Y Plus was launched in Malaysia, with AION establishing its Southeast Asia headquarters and forming dedicated teams in sales, branding, aftersales, and energy replenishment to swiftly respond to local market demands while collaborating effectively with its Guangzhou headquarters.
Looking ahead, AION aims to accelerate its global expansion plans, intending to establish seven production and sales bases in Europe, South America, Africa, the Middle East, East Asia, and other regions, achieving its strategic goal of global "research, production, and sales integration." This initiative aims to offer advanced and reliable new energy vehicle solutions to consumers worldwide.
