Chengdu, August 27, 2024-The 27th Chengdu International Automotive Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as "Chengdu Auto Show") is set to take place from August 30 to September 8 at the Western China International Expo City. The event is jointly organized by the Chengdu Municipal People's Government and the Automotive Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). It is supported by the Chengdu Bureau of Exposition, Chengdu Commerce Bureau, Sichuan Tianfu New Area Management Committee, and Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, with co-hosting by Chengdu Century City Exhibition Group Co., Ltd., Hannover Milan Exhibition (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and CCPIT Sichuan Committee.
The exhibition will feature over 130 well-known domestic and international automotive companies, with more than 1,600 vehicles on display and an overall exhibition area of approximately 220,000 square meters. The schedule is as follows: August 30 for Media Day, August 31 to September 1 for Trade Visitors, and September 2 to September 8 for General Visitors.
Exhibition Highlights
- BYD will debut its dedicated pavilion, showcasing its full range of models, including the Dynasty Series, Ocean Series, Yangwang, Fangchengbao, and Tengshi, along with the global debut of the Dynasty Net MC concept car and the first appearance of the Seal 06GT.
- Great Wall Motors will occupy over 3,500 square meters of exhibition space, featuring its five brands: Great Wall Pickup, Haval, Ora, Tank, and WEY.
- The Zhiji R7 will make its first real-world appearance at the show, while the Avita 07 will have its global debut.
- CATL, the global leader in power batteries, will also make its first appearance, presenting its latest battery technologies and innovations.
BMW Group has also previewed its 2024 Chengdu Auto Show lineup with the theme "Sporting Icons Invade Sichuan," presenting several key models. The new BMW 3 Series family will receive a China-exclusive upgrade, featuring a circular light grille design similar to the new 5 Series and 7 Series, covering both the gasoline-powered 3 Series and the electric i3. Additionally, the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, the all-new BMW 530i, and the BMW X5 Black Flame Edition will be showcased.
Particularly noteworthy is the global debut of the new BMW X3 Long Wheelbase (X3L). As one of BMW's best-selling SUVs, the X3L retains the essence of the overseas model while offering a 110mm extended wheelbase and localized configuration for the Chinese market. Expected to launch in January next year, the new X3L features a more dynamic front design with an enlarged double kidney grille, unique interior trim, matrix LED headlights, and double L daytime running lights. The three-section auxiliary air intake design on the front bumper further enhances its visual impact.
During the exhibition, attendees can also enjoy a range of activities, including test drives, automotive experiences, and cross-industry integrations. The organizers will launch the "Unexpected Surprises" car purchase lottery and the "Renewed Travel · Intelligent Drive Chengdu" car purchase reward activities to encourage new car purchases. Additionally, the "2024 Automotive Pioneer Think Tank" will be held, discussing future automotive technology and consumer trends. Visitors can experience the charm of trendy travel through AR smart scanning, nighttime live broadcasts, ACG pain car gatherings, and more.
This year's auto show also explores new paths for "exhibition-city integration," supporting urban consumption upgrades with a variety of events and interactions that showcase automotive culture and provide diverse viewing experiences.
