Thoresen Thai Agencies (TTA) has partnered with King Long to enter Thailand's electric vehicle (EV) market, focusing on commercial electric pickups with a sales target of 1,000 vehicles in the first year. Recently, they opened the first showroom in a suburban area and selected distributor partners.
On July 9, 2024, Thoresen Thai Agencies Public Co., Ltd. (TTA), a leading strategic investment firm, teamed up with Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd., a major player in China's EV market, to introduce commercial electric pickups in Thailand under the theme "Together For EV-lization."
Their strategy includes a comprehensive entry into the EV market, targeting sales of 1,000 vehicles in the first year and planning to inaugurate Thailand's first EV pickup showroom in the suburbs.
Chalermchai Mahagitsiri, President and CEO of Thoresen Thai Agencies Public Co., Ltd., revealed that TTA and King Long are collaborating on developing electric pickup trucks. They will launch a 1-ton commercial pickup model this year, tailored for Thailand's transport and logistics sectors. The initial model, a single-cab pickup, will serve both fleet and retail customers.
"We're starting with the most demanded model, commercial vehicles, and will gradually expand across all segments. We chose to partner with King Long because of their leadership in EV manufacturing in China, advanced EV production technologies, and over 30 years of experience in commercial vehicle manufacturing."
TTA's investment strategy emphasizes sustainable growth through the "Smart Growth & Sustainability" concept, with a focus on expanding its portfolio in the clean energy sector. The collaboration with King Long marks a significant step in introducing electric pickups to Thailand.
