On the evening of August 8, BYD Ocean Network launched two major new models: the 2025 Seal EV and the Seal 07 DM-i. These models represent the latest technological advancements in BYD's pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, featuring the e-platform 3.0 Evo and the fifth-generation DM technology. With starting prices of 179,800 CNY for the 2025 Seal EV and 139,800 CNY for the Seal 07 DM-i, these vehicles make high performance and long range more accessible.
The 2025 Seal EV, the first sedan based on BYD's e-platform 3.0 Evo, continues the dynamic design of existing models. Its front features a closed grille and "e" shaped headlights, enhancing its distinctive appearance. The car's sporty front end and black-and-white striped air intake further boost its athletic look. New additions include a laser radar and a sky purple paint option, offering more personalization choices. The car's dimensions are 4800/1875/1460mm with a 2920mm wheelbase, ensuring spacious and comfortable interior space. Inside, it features a new four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a 15.6-inch adaptive rotating screen, and a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, with a crystal shift lever that adds a touch of luxury. The powertrain includes a 1200V SiC silicon carbide electric control system, an 800V high-voltage platform, and a twelve-in-one powertrain, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h. The Cloud-N intelligent damping chassis control system and the front double wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension ensure excellent handling stability and comfort. Additionally, the new intelligent rapid charging technology significantly reduces charging times: 20 minutes from 30% to 80% SOC and 18 minutes from 80% to 100% SOC.
The Seal 07 DM-i, featuring the fifth-generation DM technology, adopts the Ocean Network family design language with a horizontal, borderless grille and a sloping roofline, complemented by hidden door handles and hollow multi-spoke wheels, creating a strong and dynamic presence. Its dimensions are 4980/1890/1495mm with a 2900mm wheelbase, providing ample interior space. The interior combines flow gray and real aluminum trim, equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch floating central screen. The seats are made of gray leather and feature electric adjustment, heating, and ventilation functions, enhancing comfort. The vehicle comes standard with the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, including L2-level features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and emergency lane-keeping assistance. Higher trims also include advanced driving functions like ILCA lane-change assist. The powertrain features 1.5L and 1.5Ti options, with the 1.5Ti engine offering a low fuel consumption of 3.4L per 100km and a combined range of over 2000km on a full tank and battery.
To date, the BYD Seal series has sold over 200,000 units, reflecting high consumer approval and BYD's strong market position in the electric vehicle sector. The introduction of the 2025 Seal EV and Seal 07 DM-i will undoubtedly add more shine to the Seal lineup, and we look forward to seeing these models achieve new sales records and deliver more surprises to consumers.
